Meet Ms. Thayer
I know that this will be an exciting year for your child as we build on past successes and explore many new ideas and concepts. Second grade is an exciting and challenging year and by working together we will ensure that your child has a fantastic experience!
I would like to start off by introducing myself. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh. I moved down to Florida after I finished school and I have been teaching here for nine years. I just recently completed my second Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. I have also taught third, fifth, and sixth grade, so I know exactly where your child is headed! I am excited to begin my sixth year teaching at Plato Academy St. Petersburg!
When I am not busy teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and dogs. I also like going to the beach, going on the boat, and of course...READING! My favorite sport is hockey and I love the Pittsburgh Penguins!
Below you will find some pictures of my amazing dogs:
Beebs is my adorable chihuahua and she is found on the left and right. The left picture shows her cuddled up with my first chihuahua--Zoey--who sadly passed away in May :( We all miss her.
Gizmo is my mischievous pug and he is in the picture with the Christmas border.
Ruthie is my loving pug who tolerates her brother Gizmo and she is in the happy birthday picture.
